- Parlays: several legs, every one must win — larger payouts, far worse odds
- Futures and props: season outcomes and in-game events; fun, but low efficiency

- Keep paper tickets — kiosks pay them, apps settle automatically
- The posted vigorish means the house edge is real on every ticket — treat betting as entertainment spending, never as income
